About Regulator Watch

Regulator Watch is a daily record of significant regulatory news for the FX, CFD, banking and investment industry. We publish what regulators publish — when it matters — and nothing else.

How we filter

A rules-based dictionary, maintained by hand and versioned, decides whether an item is significant. The dictionary is per-regulator: each regulator has its own include and exclude phrase lists, on top of a global baseline. We deliberately avoid LLM classification because it is expensive at this scale and harder to debug. Where we use machine translation (DeepL), the original-language text is always preserved.

Sources

We aggregate from RSS feeds, regulator HTML pages, and — where the regulator’s primary disclosure channel is X / Twitter — public posts on those accounts. We capture and store a snapshot of each source at the time of ingestion, in case the original is changed or removed.

Distribution

We publish on the web, by RSS, on Telegram, and on X. An API for newsfeed consumers is available; sponsorships fund the editorial operation.

Corrections

Errors in our ingestion are inevitable. We treat them as a line item. Send corrections to corrections@regulator.watch and we will review within 24 hours. Where we are wrong, we will say so.
